What are CAD modelling strategies?

A CAD modelling strategy is a considered approach used to generate a model in CAD. A good CAD modelling strategy means that you have used the most effective feature, set of features, or technique on CAD to generate your form.

Why are they useful to us as designers?

A good modelling strategy or an awareness of modelling strategies should enable you to model your design ideas quicker and more robustly and allow you to make changes to more easily.

This software works on two levels

1) Feature level shows you a range of basic strategies to model an individual part.

2) Assembly level shows you a range of basic strategies to create a series of links between parts.

These links, or parametric constraints, ensure that when one feature changes it automatically alters the other parts to which it is linked. Saving a considerable amount of time when making alterations to your CAD model.
